Event Details
Targeting children ages 8-13, this course will focus on safety, problem solving, good decision making and Basic First Aid when home alone. Topics include but are not limited to what to do when a stranger comes to the door, answering the telephone, internet safety and how to react during a variety of miscellaneous emergencies such as power outages and fires.
The course runtime is 2 hours and contains a mix of instructor led discussion, brainstorming group activities and a video presentation. A workbook is provide for class use that is intended to serve as after class parent talking points and a reference when they are home alone.
Participation fee is $25.00 per student and is due at registration. Payment can be cash, charge or check made payable to Wood Library and will be passed along to the presenters. We accept all major credit cards.
