Do you have a favorite pickle or relish that grandma used to make and now you would like to make, but don’t know where to begin? Perhaps you have a surplus of tomatoes and would like to make tomato sauce or a spicy salsa to enjoy later this winter. Wood Library and Cornell Cooperative Extension Ontario County have partnered together to bring you a canning class on Thursday August 19, 2021 at 6:30 pm to be held at Wood Library 134 N. Main St. Canandaigua NY. Russell Welser, Sr. Resource Educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension will discuss the basics of food preservation and provide helpful canning tips and resources. He will show you the equipment needed and walk you through the steps of canning. Mr. Welser has over 40 years of experience canning fruits and vegetables to share with you. If you would like to attend this informative canning class, contact Alexis Lawrence, Adult Service Librarian at 585-394-1381 ext. 314 or alawrence@pls-net.org
